Alt key + LMB doesn't work on MacOS
Hi,
When using Deluxe Paint in FS-UAE for MacOS, holding down Alt while drawing with the left mouse button should start animpainting mode (after setting some frames). But I can't get this to work, not even in Full Keyboard Emulation mode.
I'm using a Wacom Cintiq, but I suspect that is not causing the problem, as everything else works as it should.
Many thanks in advance for solving this, and thanks for developing FS-UAE. I really like it.
Best regards,
Metin
Furthermore, there was an Amiga keyboard key combination that was a LMB click equivalent — Left Alt + Amiga key. I remember using that a lot in DPaint to place an animbrush at an exact pixel location, because an actual mouse click sometimes moved the pointer a pixel away.
I also can't get that LMB click keyboard key combination to work. This makes me wonder if any keyboard key combination is working in FS-UAE. Or at least combinations of modifier keys.
I've experimented some more, here are my findings:
• The Full Keyboard option enables the Alt + Left Amiga key combination to emulate the left mouse button click. But animpainting in Deluxe Paint (painting with Alt + LMB, or Alt + Left Amiga key while the frames auto-flip) still doesn't work.
• I've discovered that animpainting does work when using Alt + RMB in stead of Alt + LMB. This enables a crude workaround when working with one-color animbrushes, setting the desired color to the background color, changing the Paint mode to Color, and animpainting with Alt + RMB.
If you want to try animpainting with Alt + LMB, it works like this:
1: Start DPaint IV or a higher version. 2: From the Anim drop-down menu go to Frames ➔ Set #… 3: Enter a number of frames in the following input window, like 10. 4: Hold Alt and start painting while keeping your left mouse button down. 5: The frames should start flipping while you paint, so you're creating an animation in stead of a painting. Over here this only works when using Alt + RMB.
If it turns out to work for you, it might be an issue regarding Alt + the Wacom pen tip, which is my equivalent of a left mouse button click.
Will try to reproduce...
Thanks Frode, appreciated.
