[AOSP]: WiFi HAL crashes
Device information:
- Mint Kernel Version: [mintbeta 1412 aosp enforcing ksu]
- Exact device model: [SM-A505FN]
- Android version: [13]
- Baseband version: [A505FDXXU9CVG1]
Describe the bug Wifi not working on SM-A505FN. It tries to connect and then it turns itself wifi off. The only kernel I found wifi working on aosp (android 13, as I haven't tried on android 12) is Lemonade kernel from GiovanYCringe, which can be found on github. Also any mint kernel I've tried so far has this wifi problem on my device.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- wipe data, cahce, davlink
- flash lineage20 or bananadroid tanduk or any aosp rom (android 13)
- flash mint kernel
- try to connect to wifi results in wifi turns itself off
Hi! Could you check if WiFi works with this image?
This is a known bug, especially affecting AOSP roms. Last known version to work with AOSP and not have broken Wifi is Mint Beta 1402.

I can confirm that WiFi is working on Mint Beta 1402

Can you check if it works on Beta 1404? The only network-related commits are introduced on Beta 1406, but even those work fine on OneUI so I'm not sure why they wouldn't on AOSP.

I have tried Mint Beta 1406 and then 1404 and WiFi doesn't work on any of those. Interesting was that I tried to reflash 1402 after each of them and I was getting an error - it was aborting because it couldn't find a dtb partition in the 1402 kernel, which didn't error out before. So I flashed lemonade, but it went to odin mode, so I had to reflash the rom
Issue is on hold as we're about to re-do the kernel from scratch for proper upstream and OneUI 7 support, which may also fix this bug all by itself. I will give it another check after that's finished.
