Open kolaps33 opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Summary

Example:

  1. Go to https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices-1.1/examples/toolbar/toolbar.html
  2. enable Virtual cursor mode with Insert+Z
  3. Navigate to the "Example" heading
  4. navigate into the toolbar by down arrow key until you reach toolbar
  5. observe JAWS narration

Expected result

Jaws should narrate correct number of toolbar items, or maybe no number if there are different widgets inside the toolbar.

Actual result

JAWS narrates: toolbar with 7 buttons There is much more button as 7 in the toolbar. (at least 11 I counted)

You can see here another example: https://umd10.csb.app/ where JAWS narrates there is one button, but instead of it there are 4 buttons in the toolbar.

There are exactly 7 buttons. The other elements are not buttons, but links, radio buttons etc. The number is not wrong. Classically toolbars had only buttons, that's why the JAWS output. In the future, JAWS could output the number of interactive elements instead of the number of buttons.
