Feature Request: Ability to set specific keys as "required" before new items can be saved

Pretty much as it sounds. I keep finding that, since I have many keys to provide values for, I occasionally miss a key or two, and have to go back and audit. Being prohibited from saving a new item unless specific keys are set, would be awesome.
