Preclude or option to preclude duplicate items in list

Why do you want this feature?

Long lists become cluttered when multiple duplicate items are added

Items that are already on the list could be suggested while typing

Items that are already on the list could be suggested while typing

If you don't want to have duplicates, why these should be suggested? Also, since it's a separate request, please create a new feature request if you're interested in having it.

I mean clicking a suggested item overwrites the one already on the list

This is an efficient way to search and add items without creating duplicates
