Setting a wallpaper as lock screen only doesn't work

Steps to reproduce the bug
1- downland any wallpaper from internet 2- set wallpaper as lock screen ONLY 3- it doesn't work
Expected behavior
wallpaper is lock screen ONLY

Couldn't reproduce. For me, the wallpaper is always set but with a delay of couple seconds.
Tested on Redmi Note 11 (HyperOS, Android 14), Mi 10i (MIUI, Android 12) and Vivo T3 Ultra (Android 15).
Update:
One the Mi 10i, the wallpaper is reset back to default after some time. More tests are due.

Issue isn't related to the gallery app, in MIUI 12 based on android 9, 10 and 11 lock screen wallpaper only can be changed by the miui themes app wallpaper setter component, all other methods will not work due to in this versions that I mentioned miui stores the lock screen wallpaper on data/system/themes: lock_wallpaper as an image file without extension, already cropped with screen dimensions.
You can ignore it due to is not your app issue or you can implement a call to the miui themes app wallpaper setter if the app detected a target miui/android version, it is possible because this gallery app made it:
