Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Edit a contact
2. Try to enter the person's birthday: 12th October 1980.
3. Observe

Expected behavior

Should just get saved as any other day.

Actual behavior

Birthday doesn't get displayed after closing the date selector widget, but it is shown as 'Unknown'. Or if another day got selected before, it stays unmodified. If you export this contact, the day of the export gets saved for the birthday of the given person as if they got born today.

What gives? This is one of the funkiest bugs I have ever seen.

I have just tested this on a FairPhone 4 with stock Android 13: exact same results.
