Fix for AppImages?
Applications packaged by means of AppImageKit come with icon lines in their .desktop files which read Icon=appimagekit-*iconname*.
We could either fix it by introducing lots of appimagekit- symlinks to icon themes or by having hardcode-fixer strip those prefixes. Is there anything unfavourable to this solution?
It's probably a good idea to discuss with upstream why they think introducing the prefix is a good idea. Or is there any obvious reason which escapes me?
I don't think we should never fix this here. Appimges should stop doing that and use whatever the app developer decided to use an icon name instead of changing things.
Yeah, I'd like to start a dialogue with AppImage upsteam before we start blanket fixing them here (or adding symlinks in icon themes for that matter).
