I understand this is probably more of a Lemmy specific issue, but any tips on where I can start troubleshooting would be appreciated.
That's.. odd. Did they add on the next run?
I'm also getting the same error and another one about incorrect login on lemmy.ml. Not sure what that is about.
I manually added a few communities to one of my accounts which is why some show as found. They don't add using lcs no matter how many times it runs or sleeps.

I get the same. No matter how many times I run the service it returns the couldnt_find_x errors unless I explicitly search for the community first via something like lemmy.domain.instance/search?q=%21technology%40beehaw.org&type=Communities&listingType=Local&page=1&sort=TopAll then it will return found in the app.
I'm running lemmy v0.19.5 so maybe something changed?
I am having this issue as well on v0.19.8 but after a few minutes the error changes from the one described in the post to Searched for community [email protected]: FetchError: request to https://lemmy.domain/api/v3/community?name=programmer_humor%40programming.dev failed, reason: getaddrinfo EAI_AGAIN lemmy.domain for a few seconds and then changes back again to the one everyone else is having.
@3nderall what Lemmy instances do you have configured in REMOTE_INSTANCES? Sounds like you added a domain that doesn't exist?

Hmm, how about LOCAL_URL?
https://lemmy.correct.domain
I copy pasted it into my browser to make sure
Is that some kind of internal URL? If so, and you can get to it from your browser, my guess would be your computer uses an internal DNS server and your docker container does not.
It can be accessed from outside the LAN, I just tested it with my phone disconnected + tailscale disabled
The actual domain is https://lemmy.funnyname.xyz if you want to test it, I had been removing it from other comments so scrapers wouldn't pick it up but if it removes confusion I don't care.
