Stripes Pipe

Hello, I'm having an issue with the stripes pipe, I thought that the pipe will right click the items going through it but so far it only works with blocks, placing them directly above, and instead of placing any pipes behind it it places them on top. Also, they are working where theres any junctions but that could possibly be a feature?
