Can't increase Maximum Essence in configs, change not registered!

I changed the number for maximum essence from 100 to 200 but it didn't work! The tolerance point (the red line) can go up and down, that changes fine. But I really can't seem to change the max.

Okay, so I worked it out. Seems like maximum essence is controlled client side? This does not seem right as it easily allows cheating and other problems. Please fix.
