Having issues with outdated dependencies... why is this still not merged into main? Is there a problem with this commit?

I too am having issues running with this package due to outdated dependencies. I see it's approved, but not yet merged. Is there some other issue with this? Is there any way I could help test or verify these changes to get them merged?
