MKcert unable to install system root Mac M2 Ventura

Environment

*Ventura Darwin 13.4.1 22.5.0 Darwin Kernel Version 22.5.0: Thu Jun 8 22:22:23 PDT 2023; root:xnu-8796.121.3~7/RELEASE_ARM64_T6020 arm64

  • Server my computer(where the certificate is loaded):
  • Client N/A

What you did

I run mkcert --install and the system prompts me for MKCERT install does not work when using a yubikey in smrcard mode (PIV). It does work when I remove the yubikey anduse my normal password.

What went wrong

System cannot install root certificate trust with yubikey inserted in PIV (smartcard) mode.
