copy paste not working between Figma document tabs

I cannot copy and paste between open figma documet tabs. say i have two figma tabs open and while in one tab, i select and copy one or more object, then switch tab to another open figma document and paste... nothing happens.

I am able to open a browser and do this. Also, mac and windows is fine.

interestingly, if its just raw text, thats ok as long as im copying and pasting between text objects. but anything else. nothing. I cant paste in images from the clipboard

i have tried:

• full system/bios reset

• full fresh reinstallation of manjaro

• full fresh install of ubuntu

• keyboard copy/paste

• menu copy/paste

• mouse copy/paste

• snap

• deb

• pacman

• appimage

• flatpak

• build

is there something obvious i am missing here?

Not all browsers work. I succeeded with Chromium but not Firefox Nightly.

Could you update your title to something clearer like "Copy paste not working from tab to tab"?
