Add an option to include a link to the original post

I think this could be really good as an alternative to splitting long toots when crossposting to Twitter.

Crossposter says "Any toot bigger than 280 characters will be posted with a link to the original toot. (Be careful, if you post your private toots, your followers might not be able to see the original post!)"

I think I like this approach more than splitting long toots because my goal with staying on Twitter is to promote Mastodon, so linking to Mastodon seems like a feature.

Also, no automated splitting will look as good on Twitter as manually composing a Twitter thread.

But perhaps I should make this a separate issue, since this is about only posting a link to the original Mastodon post when the toot is longer than 280 characters?

This is very important, because when I RT a thread there is no link, so no one in mastodon can find the rest of the content.

Any plans to add it?? :D
