About linked meshes in different slots, if they were converted into normal meshes with their keyframes etc on export, but they still worked in the editor, maybe it wouldn't be so bad for the runtimes and people would still get a little ease when animating.

Nate: "could be a huge duplication of data"

Erika: "People would do it anyway by hand, They already do"

Just not to "pollute" the forum more than necessary... are there plans to make this happen?

Nate, you mention it would be hugely redundant, and I agree, but I'm already paying the cost in performance by just duplicating the master mesh to another slot, every time I change anything.

So my question is: do you guys don't want to do this because you wouldn't use it? Or it's because it's actually very difficult to implement it both on the editor and the runtimes? Thanks.

We certainly want to do it, it's just a matter of getting to it given the many other things we are working on.

Likely it can be done more efficiently than converting on export.

+1 here: https://github.com/EsotericSoftware/spine-editor/issues/

We'll fit it in 4.0 if possible, if not then 4.1 hopefully.

Are there any updates about this issue? It still doesn't work in 4.1 beta.

I'm also still interested. Just for the record. ^_^

Why dont you store the slots of linked meshes inside the original mesh by the way so it will know where other linked instances are? Maybe make a new kind of attachment that inherit from mesh that can store such values.

It seems I'll finally update to 3.8 to 4.3 if this happens, seven years later. xD
