Mob despawned from raft [Bug]

Describe the bug
at 8540 / 63 /3307 at approximately 8:20pm CST a goat was brought on a raft to Madagascar. Upon breaking the raft the goat despawned. It just disappeared. I have picture of goat available if needed.
To Reproduce
Put goat on raft and break raft. Raft on water next to blocks above water.
Expected behavior
Goat vanished exactly when raft broke. We thought maybe it teleported underground or in the water but it was not there.

Not really. It was completely unexpected. The goat was in good health. The bamboo raft was broken with hand. Goat was not struck by hand while breaking raft.
