Hide or grey out certain notes
A very good feature would be: Grey out or hide certain notes.
For example there are dozens of notes around to fix several public transport bus routes. These notes are not interesting to me, cause I'm not able to fix these routes. I rather want do concentrate on notes I'm able to fix. But I always stumble about these bus-notes cause I'm not able to visually differentiate them from other notes.
So it would be ideal to grey out/hide these bus-notes by e.g. click onto a tiny icon of the note in the map or in the list-view to hide it.
I think the most important decision is where to store greyed out note ids per each user. There are at least 3 options:
- In the database on the backend + API.
- In the browser: local storage. Easy to implement but doesn't sync between browsers and limited size.
- In OSM user preferences. I am not sure what are size limits. Also feels like feature abuse
I think the decision what Notes should be hidden from a user should be a quite persistent one, so IMHO 1.) or 3.) Otherwise if a user changes his Browser or Computer he has to define every uninteresting note again.
