[Feature Request]: Orbic RC400L - change LTE bands for Europe

Open radioaiolos opened this issue 10 months ago • 6 comments

What problem does this feature solve or what does it enhance?

Can anybody explain to me, how I can change the LTE bands on Orbic RC400L? Found this: https://forums.quectel.com/t/can-someone-explain-how-command-at-qcfg-band-works-ec200t/28400

How can I access via AT command port and change the LTE band configuration? With a command like AT+QCFG="band" it is possible to change the LTE band. How can I set the new string (0000000000000000000001A0080800C5) for europe?

Europe needs:

B1 (2100 MHz) B3 (1800 MHz +) B7 (2600 MHz) B20 (800 MHz DD) B28 (700 MHz APT) B38 (TD 2600 MHz)

encodemask 1 3 7 8 20 28 38 40 41 0000000000000000000001A0080800C5

please refer to #106 and #186 -- orbic simply does not work in europe.

Damn. Anyone had success swapping the Quectel-branded Qualcomm Baseband module for a European one?

  • I know this ain't like a MiniPCIe / M.2 socketed but rather some tiny BGA'd thing requiring spechal tools.

Cuz sadly those may not be easy to reflash...

@radioaiolos Have you tried putting a European SIM into an Orbic?

i think this can be closed since rayhunter supports tplink m7350 now, as a solution for europe

It could still be useful to change bands on the orbic so I'm going to leave this open in case folks want to experiment with it

I have Orbic RC400L in EU. I can give device someone to try change bands. Or I can do the tests myself if someone have ideas how to do.
