Bug: Timeline skips
Environment:
- OS: iOS 26.0.1
- IceCubesApp version: 2.0.5
Description
I'm not sure if this is a bug, or is changeable by a setting, but I'm seeing behavior I don't see in other Mastodon apps. When I start Ice Cubes after a long absence, my list only loads 20 of my most recent unread posts. The timeline is starting from my last read post, but then jumps to the 20th unread. See attached screenshot for example. Note how it goes from 12 hours unread to 4 hours unread.
I was expecting the timeline to load on the post I last read, and all unread posts since to load, allowing me to scroll upwards through my unread posts until the most recent.

+1
this (remembering timeline position and loading all posts from last fetch) used to be the behavior but recent update introduced this defect I believe.
From what I can gather, this has the same root cause as #2309. It looks like the gaps are the result of loading working blocks of posts then having a post that exposes the other bug in a subsequent block.
Planning to look into that. It could indeed be an issue with filtered posts.
Thank you, everyone. Little more info with additional use— Looks like it always loads only the 20 most recent posts, and not loading anything past twenty. Thus, the timeline is the 20 newest, some gap, then resuming with my last most recently loaded post.
