Suggestion: export / import metadata

Open ChristianGaede opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

Hi there,

would it be possible to export the metadata of all selected files to a single file? Respectively to import from this? Maybe an xlsx file? This would make mass editing of the metadata much easier.

Many thanks

Hi

You can already export metadata from multiple emails. If you select multiple entries in the list of emails in a folder, then right click and Export Properties, you will obtain a CSV file containing the metadata for the selected emails. Similarly, if you select a folder, then right click and Export All Properties, you will obtain a CSV file containing the metadata for all the emails in the folder.

However, you cannot import metadata at all. XstReader is strictly a reader: it never writes to any .pst file or .ost file that it opens.

I hope that this gives you at least some of what you are looking for.

Maybe something similar as in exiftool image

which write a 1 consolidated file in a specific format for all METADATA in that specific dir NOTE. The image is for just 1 file but you can do the same for entire DIR
