pH for * || FileMeta shellex || Update registry
Hello.
- Property handler (pH) for unknown extension (ue). I often deal with unknown extensions, for which I'd like to add pH. Things that I'd like to have:
- option to enable pH for all file types (*)?
- If not, plugin that quickly adds pH for ue. (as shell extension or send-to option)
- "FileMeta" shell extension. I don't use this shell ex so I don't want it to be created by default.
- What is "Update registry for 1.5" option?

Since Vista, the property system has been extension based, with no mechanism for a default property handler for unknown extensions. You could add the File Meta property handler in a send to by writing a small batch file or program that took the extension of the passed file and used the File Meta command line utility to add the handler.

You can remove the File Meta shell extension by deselecting the context menu during installation of File Meta. Note that you can uninstall and install File Meta freely without losing its configuration.

I think you can ignore this, if you're running only the current version. It relates to managing changes in the way the registry was used over different File Meta versions.
