Pull request for in-place metadata support
This pull request merges the work done for the paper "Efficient Support for In-place Metadata in Transactional Memory" by Ricardo J. Dias, João M. Lourenço and Tiago M. Vale, presented as a distinguished paper in Euro-Par 2012 [1].
We hope everything goes well with the pull, it is the first time we are doing something like this, so if we are doing/did something wrong contact us in order to fix it and provide a clean merge of our work. It's up to you whether you prefer to merge it with your master or a specific branch.
