2.0.31 [mp & sp] effect differences
Hello DeckerMMIV,
i want to report some soilmod effect differences (we tested serveral times during a multiplayer and single player session)
Swath / Windrows plowed acc. your readme: +3N Swath / Windrows plowed acc. our tests: +1N 2) Swath / Windrows cultivated acc. your readme:+2N Swath / Windrows cultivated acc. our tests: +0N 3) Manure plowed acc. your readme: +12N, +4PK Manure plowed acc. our tests: +11N, +4PK 4) Lime plowed/cultivated acc. your readme: +0,8pH Lime plowed/cultivated acc. our tests: +0,9pH 5) Lime spreaded, at groth cycle acc. your readme: +0,6pH Lime spreaded, at groth cycle acc. our tests: +0,7pH
If these readings, from your tests, were taken from the SoilMod info-panel, then it is due to the problem described in this post in issue #31
The swath/windrows have perhaps a width of 1 or 2 meters. The info-panel samples an area of 10 x 10 meters, so there will unfortunately be some inaccuracy in the info-panel. If you used the 'dotted grid' during plowing/cultivating, you should be able to see that there is a very small change, where the swath were.
For the lime and soil pH, that depends on what starting value the soil pH level were. - I have only 16 unique values, which gets scaled (calculated) into the following pH range. So that could explain the minor discrepancies you experience:
Internal
value Offset Soil pH
0 -1,00 5,5
1 -0,86 5,7
2 -0,73 5,9
3 -0,60 6,1
4 -0,46 6,3
5 -0,33 6,5
6 -0,20 6,7
7 -0,06 6,9
8 +0,06 7,1
9 +0,20 7,3
10 +0,33 7,5
11 +0,46 7,7
12 +0,60 7,9
13 +0,73 8,1
14 +0,86 8,3
15 +1,00 8,5
Any chance to get a fixed value or defined easier rule? I´m working on a fieldplaner since weeks see here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1H6v1Uu4k2LwG7Ouno8iqfOOgP268an1wOgDPallphWY/edit?usp=sharing
@DeckerMMIV:
Manure plowed acc. your readme: +12N, +4PK Manure plowed acc. our tests: +11N, +4PK
We tried it over a huge field. It´s always only +11N +4PK`
Wow! That spreadsheet / field-planner really impressed me.
Regarding 'fixed value or easier rule'; is that for the soil pH range? - If so, then a comment that MrSpecies7 made to me, kind of tells me, that the entire soil pH range should probably be changed (again), as I basically have no clue about how crops cope with high/low pH levels.
Now, for the manure plowing test. The only way I can think of, that you only see +11N, may be due to gaps when you spread the manure. - I assume that you use the GPS mod, to make straight lanes. But do you make sure you overlap the previous lane with 1 meter or more? Please do not rely on the visible graphics, as that is 'randomized placement', so it may actually seem to overlap, but technically it does not.
These "gaps" will result in not getting a 100.0% filled field, but perhaps only 99.9%. - This 0.1% difference is unfortunately enough for the SoilMod's info-panel's calculation to only show "+11N", as it rounds-down to a whole number.
To test that it actually can give "+12N", I've done the following, by using the not documented SoilMod console-command modSoilModPaint (was: modSoilMod) to quickly fill a field with specific values.
modSoilModPaint Fertilizer 4 29 // Spray Herbicide-X on entire field #29
- Activate: Grow NOW! // To remove all plants on field #29
modSoilModPaint FertN 0 29 // Remove all nutrition N on field #29
modSoilModPaint FertPK 0 29 // Remove all nutrition PK on field #29
modSoilModPaint Moisture 0 29 // Remove all moisture on field #29
modSoilModPaint Soil_pH 0 29 // Set to lowest soil pH on field #29
modSoilModPaint Manure 3 29 // Add manure to entire field #29
- Perform: Plowing field #29 // Using hired-worker with a plow
The syntax for this console-command is;
modSoilModPaint <foliageName> <newValue> <field-number_or_'world'>
Available foliage-names and their integer-value ranges are:
Manure 0-3
Slurry 0-3 // only value 1 has visible graphics
Weed 0-7
Lime 0-1
Fertilizer 0-7 // only 1-3 and 5-7 have "visible" graphics. Value 4 is Herbicide-X.
Herbicide 0-3 // shown in Info-panel (1=A,2=B,3=C)
Water 0-3 // not visible (1=remove 1 moisture, 2=add 1 moisture, 3=add 2 moisture)
Soil_pH 0-15 // shown in Info-panel scaled to a pH range
FertN 0-15 // shown in Info-panel
FertPK 0-7 // shown in Info-panel
Moisture 0-7 // shown in Info-panel scaled to percentage
HerbicideTime 0-3 // shown in Info-panel; Weed prevention +N days
is there an english version of that spread sheet? :)
@DeckerMMIV: no we don´t use the GPS mod. During ours tests we wached to get a 100% filled field (overlapping min. 5meters) always the same result_ +11N +4PK (tried 5 times)
Hmm. but thanks for the unofficial console commands. i will test it.
When you paint with command console, the referents is fruit_density.grle or coordenate (cornets)?
Edit: solved, I use photoshop for finalize.
