a query about an arduino uno type product for the raspberry pi
Dear DCC++
so ive been looking for a little while at going computed aided DCC control for a while now, but i want to use my raspberry pi to do it as its small and compact and can be used with all sorts of apps from what ive looked up.
my issue is, i don't really want to invest in a whole other SBC if i can get a HAT for the PI instead that would make it 1 whole unit, so would this board possibly work with one of the reccomended motor shields? : https://shop.watterott.com/RPi-UNO-HAT-Raspberry-Pi-Arduino-Erweiterung_1
i'm sorry about contacting you this way, been trying to source a way to message you directly but ive not been able to find a way, i just really want to use my PI more and i feel the arduino HAT method might get me to want to use it more aswell for projects of some sort but i don't want to waste my money if this HAT isn't going to be worth my time.
Cheers
~Mr. Morris
My opinion, spend the $20 on an Arduino Uno and motor shield. It would be comparable in price to a hat for the Pi and save the power of the Pi for a project that needs it.
The Arduino is a micro-controller and is ideally suited to this sort of task. Its not a Single Board Computer as such.
I don't think an emulator will be reliable enough.
Just my opinion and thoughts. :)
