Support for custom templates for schools/departments
We had a request from a DMPTool org admin to be able to create specific default templates for a department w/in her university. "We have created a template that is biomedical specific. Is there a way to use the school/department feature to have people limit to a template associated with a specific school/department?"
This seems like a very useful extension of the new feature to create school/department categories within an organization.
Could also be paired with a similar feature to generate department specific guidance.
We've had a few suggestions around the schools/departments for similar functionality.
It'd be nice to collect all the different use-cases for that departmental tagging and pull these tickets together into a milestone/review the functionality suggested for each tool-area. There's other areas that would benefit from more robust departmental support such as guidance and usage-statistics.
I'd like to support that suggestion and add the idea of making institutional templates customizable for schools and departments (equivalent to customizable funder templates for institutions).
Right now, we're experimenting with simply creating copies of the institutional template for individual departments to adapt (they seem mostly interested in adding example or default answers), but this is gonna be a lot of manual maintenance work.
Hi @Falco-KUB , we had a couple of similar requests so we're looking into this. The template selection could get a bit complicated at 'create plan' stage but since we're looking into re-designing the plan creation process, we could look into this at the same time.
