Email from Dan Hruschka:

There are Ana-Ife living in Benin and Togo. There are also Yoruba living in the city of Ife in Nigeria (ethnicities are often defined by town of residence in Nigeria). There may be some historical relationship between these two groups. For example, the Ana-Ife in Benin-Togo might have migrated from Nigeria a long time ago. However, it's not well-documented.

DPLACE currently lists the language of Af34 as the language of the Ana-Ife in Benin-Togo ( ifee1241 ). However, DPLACE also shows that the Ethnographic Atlas places Af34 in Nigeria close to the city of Ife. The texts in HRAF for the Ife are also about the Yoruba in Nigeria. This suggests that Ethnographic Atlas was really about the Yoruba residents of Ife. The closest dialect to the Yoruba of Ife in glottolog would be Ijesha (ijes1238) which is the dialect associated with a Yoruba city right next door to Ife (Ilesha/Ijesha).
