I do not know how to properly set up the R markdown files. Is there a file that needs to be downloaded prior to starting the work?

This is what my file looks like.

Did you download the RMarkDown file? You have to upload the rmarksdown file in order to do labs and have the access to the lab templates.

It looks like your file has a space in the filename for example "file. Rmd" Try renaming your file so there is no space "file.Rmd".

Click the box for the file, then choose rename.

Also, you can make a new R markdown file by pressing the green plus button in the top left hand corner.
