Mostly craft list requests and bugs
i have several feature requests a couple of questions and a couple of possible bugs, so i'll start with the ones related to the normal lists as most are craft list related
- i would love an option for an "is melded?" column as i tend to forget to retrieve materia when switching gear and this would save having to hover over every single item to see if it's melded
- several categories such as being crafting ingredients and being desynthable seem to be missing from "uses" column, a workaround is using the specific "is ..." columns but not having to do that would save space
- similarly, a lot of things seem to be missing from the "is craft component" category, for this one using the "recipe total count" instead works but i figured it was worth reporting
for the crafting list, i have two questions three issues and several requests. first of all i just wonder what the "is gc turn in" etc and retrieval options do as i haven't noticed any difference with them on or off. as for the rest
- items being craftable seems to be missing from the "acquisition" category
- editing a column name (which works fine in normal list mode) refuses to save. the only way to change them is to re-add the category and name it right away then remove the existing one.
- if you have some but not all of a needed item in your inventory it shows up in the retrieval list and the next step column says "retrieve [amount in bag]" instead of "gather/craft [amount missing]". this makes sense if things are in a retainer or even a saddlebag but for the normal inventory it just causes confusion.
- if there is an option to sort and filter both the tab order and the acquisition options i haven't been able to find it, and if not i would love for it to be added, especially for the acquisition options as they sometimes show options you don't have access to in the game yet.
- an option to keep gathering items (mining/botany/fishing) in the same tab but either separated by zone or with a zone column you can use to sort it by would be great, this is sort of possible by setting "group everything else by" to together but that leaves no way of telling the zones
- sort of related, an indicator for items that are collectable in more than one zone and the ability to choose which one to use for the list, especially necessary when some zones are ones you don't have access to yet
- an ability to sort the precraft tab by crafting class like the output tab instead of having to separate them, and maybe an option to combine them (still sorted by class)
and finally, the mob search option is great but a way to make a list of mobs and see what zones they spawn in either as its own thing or integrated in the craft list system would be super useful! thank you for all your hard work
Thanks for the detailed post, let me address some of these:
- I've added a materia count column/filter which should allow you to determine if your gear is melded(will be in next version)
- I'll be addressing the uses/sources that are missing when the next major update comes out as I will need to rewrite parts of AT to use the new lumina that will more than likely be coming out with the next update of dalamud. With the rewrite I've made it far easier for me to calculate the uses/sources so the entries that are missing should show up
- "Is GC turn in" and a few of the other settings inside craft lists are a bug and should not actually show up
- I've fixed the column editing inside craft lists(next version)
- You should be able to configure your list to retrieve later and it'll make you gather all the items you need before retrieving the items you need from your retainers
- There's no configuration currently possible for the acquisition column and due to what I mentioned in part 2 I can't really fix this yet
- I've added a zone column and also made it so that when the craft list's "Group Everything Else By" is set to "Together" it'll order the items by their zone(next version)
- You can hit the gear icon in the settings column to choose which zone you want to gather from. There is also the zone preference list where you can order which zones you prefer
- You can already group precrafts together and they'll order by class(Group Precrafts Together setting)
- I'll have a think about how to make the mob searching easier
thanks so much for the updates! to clarify point 5 as i think i worded it unclear, the problem is with items already in the character inventory - as soon as you have any amount of something it changes from gather/craft to retrieve what you just collected. also, the zone column is great but having the region listed in front of each individual zone makes it take up a lot of space - i understand if this would be too much work or not even possible to change but making the text wrap when the column is too small (like the next step column) would help. a few new things i've thought of:
- it would be great if the craft list highlighting applied to the inventory, so you can tell which items you need to keep in there and which you can move to storage - if possible make this apply only when interacting with a retainer so it's not always on
- if possible, having "missing ingredients" apply only to raw materials and adding something like "missing precrafts" for things you already have all the base materials for and thus technically can craft would be super helpful
- this might not be possible and if so i absolutely understand, but an option to have different columns active for different tabs would help save space as some columns only apply to crafting and some only to gathering
- a column like the gather/buy one that instead of placing a map marker adds the item to the gatherbuddy overlay window would be amazing
- i saw in the patch notes that you've added a custom list function but i can't figure out how to make one - currently i've been using a search list with a custom item filter for this but being able to just right click to add something would be much easier!
update on the retrieve thing, it now says to "retrieve" the missing amount of certain precrafts, resulting in the ingredients not being included in the gathering section.
also, certain items say ingredients missing but without the info hover to show which ones, and when clicking craft anyway it turns out they do in fact have all the required ingredients.
