RTMP streams only work in chromecast

Has anyone successfully watched an RTMP stream with IPTV in any device other than a chromecast? I've tried Android, Chrome browser, iOS, and PS4 apps. It opens but then just buffers and never displays video/sound from the stream.

Not sure if this is an IPTV or Plex issue, so apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

RTMTP works in Chrome for me now, but not Android - it "loses" connection. This is with or without forcing transcoding by disabling "optimised for streaming"
