Possibility for comments?

Would it be possible to get a "comment" Object?

What I'm thinking of in an Object that just consists of a text field (like the naming text fields that come above every Object already). Whenever I need to leave a brief text comment, I tend to use the text field in an empty folder or a switch that does nothing. It'd be nicer if I just had the text field to work with.
