Disable WINDOWS UPDATES

Open mxrius99 opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

I don't know how to check whether the disable windows updates worked or not, because after disabling them, I can still click "Check for Updates" and the button still works as before. I don't know if its meant to be that way or not.

Is there any way to check if they're 100% disabled?

You really shouldn't disable these.

The thing we Disabled is "Automatic Update" Not the Manual Update. So if you click on the Check the Update Button it still checks for the Update.

If you are manually clicking on "check for updates", you are kind of asking for updates. As @blusewill answered we do disable automatic updates. So if you disable them and don't manually download & install them u most likely will not get updates.

disable the ability for updates entirely isn't recommended and not that easy on a script base (I think)

Is this good for you? If yes please close the issue and else just go ahead and ask :)

going to close this out now due to the already mentioned explanation. you can check by looking into what the setting does and go look for that or wait and see that it does not autoupdate stuff. There is not really more u can do as far as I know.
