Onedrive removal doesn't copy files to local storage

Open jhenriquelc opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug

When running the "Remove OneDrive" script, the data isn't moved to the appropriate local folders as claimed.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install OneDrive
  2. Enable syncing of user folders
  3. Wait for the syncing to finish
  4. Run "Remove OneDrive" advanced utility
  5. Notice that files weren't copied to local storage as claimed

Expected behavior

The utility should move the OneDrive cloud files to local storage before uninstallation, then move the data back to their appropriate folders.

Screenshots

None.

Additional context

This happened with a preinstalled version of OneDrive shipped with a Brazillian copy of Windows 11 with synced folders enabled by default. This isn't critical since the data is still available online on OneDrive, but it is an additional manual step required, one that the utility's tooltip claims should is done automatically.
