Will PETTERM work with the built-in serial port on a Commodore Super PET

Will PETTERM work with the built-in serial port on a Commodore Super PET? I have a working Commodore Super PET and it has a built-in serial port. I would like to know if this software can be configured to use this serial port instead of using the user port.

This would be cool. In fact, Im currently thinking of building a little 6551 ACIA expansion for regular PETs (like ACIA + MAX232 + some address decoding, maybe some ROM, and everything connected to one of the PETs rom expansion slots. (Basically like it was available from some vendors back then) I could make it HW compatible with the SuperPets ACIA. I can't code good enough for a terminal program though, which is the biggest hurdle of the project.
