PinecraftOS crash
The PinecraftOS for the 1.21 version doesn't work in the raspberry. When installing the Base OS provided it freezes on the boot.
"doesn't work in the raspberry" - I'd need more info. What board are you using? How are you flashing it (which program)? etc.
When you install the PinecraftOS from DittoDistro with the Raspberry Pi imager and then you start the raspberry it freezes on the boot. Im using a Raspberry pi 4 and you need that opertative sistem because minecraft 1.21 requires Java 21.
I'm Having a similar issue with installing PinecraftOs using the imager as well; after installing and connecting back to my Ethernet and booting it up the pie doesn't load the os. at all. I can't see it on my network and can't ssh into it.
Hello I have the same crash problem when installing the OS, I use a rasberry pi 4 8gb with a 64gb ssd which I flashed with rasberry pi imager. Sorry for my bad English because I am French.
Hello, unfortunately I have the same problems, has anyone found a solution in the meantime?
I got the same issue on my case it gets stuck when loading the raspi-config.services
[OK] Started raspi-config-service - LSB: Switch to ondemand cpu governor (unless shift key is pressed).
Tried everything with shift key nothing happens, I suspect it might be something with the Kernel configuration.
I did use the Pi Imager to load the PinecraftOS-Build1.img, I did not use the option to load any advanced configuration while installing the image I clicked the option (no, clear the settings)
Commenting to say I'm experiencing the same issue. Has there been any update to this?
I am also seeing the same problem with PinecraftOS-Build1.img. I tried writing the image with both Balena Etcher and Pi Imager.
The PinecraftOS-Build1.img also freezes for me. I've used the official Raspberry Pi Imager (no advanced options), Balena Etcher, Disks utility, and dd to write it to 2 different SD-cards and tested it on 2 different Raspberry Pi 4 8GB. The exact location where it freezes seems to differ from run to run. It becomes completely unresponsive, not even the numlock light on the USB keyboard will toggle after that point.
Another one for record:
Raspberry Pi 4 8GB
Pinecraft-OS freeze at raspi-config.service on boot
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Seems to freeze on boot at different points, but most commonly on
[OK] Started raspi-config-service - LSB: Switch to ondemand cpu governor (unless shift key is pressed).
Using PinecraftOS downloaded from DittoDistro. Installed on SD card (tried 32GB card and 256GB) using Raspberry Pi Imager v1.8.5, running on a Raspberry Pi 4 model B 8GB.
I had the same issue, my Pi got stuck on boot at
raspi-config.service – LSB: ...
with the green LED solid and no network connection.
With some help from ChatGPT I found that disabling the network wait and the overclocking fixed it (maybe even just one of these steps would have been enough):
Open the boot partition of your SD card or SSD after flashing PinecraftOS (this is the volume visible on your PC).
- In config.txt, comment out the overclock lines and disable Wi-Fi:
#over_voltage_delta=250000
#arm_freq=2400
dtoverlay=disable-wifi
- In cmdline.txt (same line, don’t add a line break) add:
systemd.network-wait-online=false
After that the Pi booted normally, showed up in my router, and SSH worked again.
Hope this helps!
