Stream Producer Mode
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Ex. I'm always frustrated when [...]
- I'd like to be able to use Forge to produce digital representations of Live Games on a Stream.
- I think this would act like a hotseat game with dev options to just search and put cards on the table as needed, control the game status,, in real time.
Describe the solution you'd like A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.
- Create a "producer" mode;
- Have a match layout screen show up, showing the names of the players, and the game status like a normal game.
- Hide the hands. Leaving Player fields, Card Details, and Card Picture, the stack/combat/ log...
- Pop out the Prompt, and Dev Mode panels to a second window so it's not captured in a screen capture.
- Create a simple "Producer" panel, similar to Dev Mode panel so it's limited to fewer actions just for a producer; add card to battlefield, cast spell, move to graveyard.
- When an "add card" type action is selected ask for the set/edition of the card so it's correctly displayed.
- Phase Select; allow the producer to go forward or back in phases to clarify the current status.
- Add animations for card actions (similar to arena attacks?)
- Attacks ("smackdown" animations like arena)
- Card Removal (burn effect or some other destruction)
- Card Added to Battlefield (zoom out like card being placed on field)
- Others?
- The ability to trigger things, validate and correct life levels, and card counts (deck, graveyard, hand, etc.)
- Maybe a button that can bring a card picture display over the fields, temporarily.
Describe alternatives you've considered A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.
- Dev Mode + Hotseat two player human game with blank decks... doesn't really work, needs some cards or the game just crashes and ends to a draw.

I'll just put it this way, bluntly, I know this is a huge feature request and isn't the core of Forge. It's 100% for physical game streamers to be able to have a good graphical application that can be utilized to represent whats happening on the table. I'm working with a group of game streamers in my local area who set up game tournaments and other events for charity and this would be an awesome function to have. If the dev team wants this to not be apart of Forge I can understand and the feature request can be deleted. I know I've made a lot of requests too, but I do think they will make forge better, and I apologize if I'm overdoing it.
No, I don't have all the answers, nor do I know how well this would work. It needs to be easy enough a producer on the sidelines, or even a player can use, to quickly search and select cards to put into the battlefield and control the display in real time to represent the real game happening. Or to be able to "play a game" in post production, and keep the table status as exact as possible. So when the digital context is added or switched to in a stream or video, it's accurate and visually appealing. I do know this isn't something that is easy to just snap your fingers and produce.
I guess there's probably other software out there to do this, I'm sure I've seen it on other MTG streams. But I love forge, and it's capabilities, and I'd love to be able to promote it through this way too.
