I want to populate holes in a complex 2d shape onto a complex 3d shape I thought about 2 approaches each comes with a back draw

1- Project the 2d shape onto the 3d shape in multiple angles, (I put the 2d shape inside the 3d)

• its back draw is that the shape has to be almost spherical, a very curvy shape like a horseshoe will not apply

2- Iterate the faces and put hole on each face

• it's back draw is that curves are considered faces, so a shape like sphere is only 1 face so it's only one hole

anybody can help me with this?
