Guidance for evaluation

Hi MGard developers,

I'm planning to run some experiments to evaluate 1) the rate-distortion and 2) the CPU performance of MGard. Could you provide guidance on

  1. which version of MGard should I compile and test on? I see the latest release is almost one year old; I imagine that there are many improvements since then?
  2. Does MGard support parallelization on CPUs? I did notice GPU accelerated compilations, but I'm focusing on CPU for this study.
