1. It might be more logical to have the metronome as current source.
2. Maybe a more general issue: Refractory period is controlled under the parameter "synapse" (tau). Since you already have implemented perfect control over the synapse when you click at the axon, I think it would be more logical to have it under "membrane" (or name it axon hillock).

1. I think we should keep it as a spike generator, but we might add an item later that provides a similar behavior with current.
2. This is a good idea. It does however need some fundamental restructuring of the code to be made possible. I think we need to postpone this to v2.0.
