DIsable HW Button Backlight not working

I'm running OmniRom 4.4.1 (nightly) and the setting to disable HW key backlight isnt working.

After I select the always off option, the backlight is turned off, but the next time I click on the screen it turns on again.

At boot, it remains off, until I touch a HW key, then its on again.

This option needs to be reworked for KitKat. I have currently no device having hardware keys to debug&test with.

Hmm, I have a S3 and can test it for you, but as a fellow dev I know its a pain to develop without immediate test feedback.
