ESP32-S3 not powering Tonex One
Hello.
I've already tried with two different ESP-32 S3. The first one is a N8R2 that I have been using it in another project. I erased it using the flash tool and uploaded the 2.0.1.2 release to it. The wi-fi connection, bluetooth and web browser works as expected, but the board doesn't power my Tonex one up. I made a simple voltage regulator with a couple of capacitors and a 7805 regulator and connected to the 5v in pin. I used a bare USB-C cable to measure and I have no 5v on the UART port. I tried using my regulated pedal supply powering the Tonex and my ESP (using the regulator), but still the Tonex doesn't seen to receive any signal.
So, I bought a new ESP-32 S3, this time a N16R8, and still on the same page. The exactly same problems described above. I have noticed two small pads named In/Out next to the coupling capacitors, which I imagined to be the DC bridge to power the USB port, but once again, nothing.
I must have left something behind. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Hi Andrey. Refer to here: https://github.com/Builty/TonexOneController/blob/main/HardwarePlatform_DevKit-C.md#connections
The "DevKit-C" boards need a link on the back of the board, that enables power to the USB host port. Its also important to use the right USB port for the Tonex, as shown in the link above. It has 2 USB-C ports but only one of them will work with the Tonex. Note also a 7805 regulator may get quite hot powering this project. "switching" regulators are more efficient and run cooler. Some details here: https://github.com/Builty/TonexOneController/blob/main/HardwarePlatform_DevKit-C.md#9v_power
Thank you. I'm out of town til friday working, but it must be it. I didn't link these pads in neither of them. TY once again
