Flatpak Version 4 months old
What happened?
Was looking to check out Waterfox on a distro without an official package. I can and will manually install it, but I figured I would try out the Flatpak first only to find that it is version 6.5.7 and 4 months old in the listing. Seems like that could be a potential security issue.
Reproducible?
- [x] I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
Version
6.5.7
What platform are you seeing the problem on?
Linux
That version is not official
That version is not official
it would be neat if it was 😿
@clintre you can maybe install the test build if ur comfy with that
flatpak install --user https://dl.flathub.org/build-repo/210503/net.waterfox.waterfox.flatpakref
(https://github.com/flathub/net.waterfox.waterfox/pull/86)
That version is not official
Just a suggestion. Currently it is listed in the documentation as an option for installing on Linux. With it being unofficial, it would be a good idea to make a notation of that in the docs.
This is what it currently sites...
Install from Flatpak
To install Waterfox from Flatpak, install and configure Flatpak on your computer. Once Flatpak is installed, go to the Waterfox Flathub’s page and click the Install button. Alternatively, you can type the following command in a terminal:
flatpak install flathub net.waterfox.waterfox
https://www.waterfox.net/support/install-waterfox-linux/
Although it is in the documentation, it is still a third-party compilation and I think it is a mistake that they included it in the documentation.
