Custom Icon for New Tab Shortcuts Do Not Feature Transperency

What happened?

When I paste in an image link for Waterfox New Tab Shortcuts, it doesn't have transparency for the part which is transperant, and the image link I paste contains a PNG. It gives an ugly white background surrounding the icon.

I think a fix that could be done like allowing us to upload a file, instead of pasting an image link.
