How to manage a lot of remote servers?

Open Joly0 opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Hey guys, i just found NETworkManager thanks to this comment https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1h3dg7z/comment/lzxyswo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button and so far it looks quite interesting. Though i would like to know if a more "advanced" solution is already implemented or planned for remote access management? So for better explanation: I am managing over a hundred servers (mostly rdp, some linux through ssh) and i want a replacement for mRemoteNG, but it doesnt look like i can add all my servers easily into NETworkManager and then connect to them, is there?

Hi @Joly0, currently there is no import function. Maybe in the future, but then I will implement something generic (maybe from a csv, instead of supporting various other products...)

You could create/modify your own xml file with the necessary values. The file is stored here: https://borntoberoot.net/NETworkManager/docs/faq/file-locations

Edit: There is also (currently) no service/server that will sync hosts in a team. Perhaps in the distant future...
