Optional tag inheritance
Describe the feature you'd like
When adding a tag to a book (or shelve), I want to be able to flag a tag as inheritable. So this flagged tag will be inherited by all pages in the book (or all books and thus pages in this shelve).
Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users
In my company, we use Bookstack for documentation of our customer's IT systems. We have a book per customer and then a page per topic or project. Every customer has e.g. a network page. So when searching I want to search "[customer-tag] network" to find the network page for the exact customer I'm looking for, without having to go through the list of all customers when just searching for "network"
Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?
Yes, by manually adding the tags to all pages. This is somewhat cumbersome and only works if the responsible employee explicitly sets the tag on the new page.
Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?
- [X] I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request
How long have you been using BookStack?
3 months to 1 year
