[BUG] Losing settings and sharing access point

Open Kfrard opened this issue 8 months ago • 6 comments

Bug report

Describe the bug

The clock provides access point by displaying "AP MODE", even though it was previously configured. After saving various settings, it sometimes loses them (e.g. MQTT settings).

The problem occurs on three TC001 devices, independently of each other. It appeared on version 0.97 or most likely on 0.98. I tried reflashing the devices, it didn't help.

Additional information

  • Devices involved:
    • Model: Ulanzi Awtrix Smart Pixel Clock 2882 (TC001)
    • awtrix3 version: v. 0.98

To Reproduce

The problem appears after a few days.

Expected behavior

Correct display of information, regardless of the passage of time.

Additional context

I also ask for information on how I can return to previous versions.

I have the same issue. It happens randomly when I switch on the devices. The only thing I can do is turn the device in question off and on again, mostly several times back to back. Eventually the device boots up normally.

The same here: After sleep-mode it doesn't re-connect to WiFi but starts AP Mode. Turn off and on again solves it until next wake-up after sleep.

The phenomenon maybe started with 0.97 or 0.98 as mentioned.

Files that you write to the file storage (eg, additional icons) - are they retained between boots?

I seem to have this problem on the TC100. But mine appears after a power on or a sleep cycle.

@chrisf185 per my q above: if you save icons or other files to the flash are they retained after reboot? if not, it would suggest there's an issue with the flash of your unit.

I believe you are correct. Regards
