Add country flag to leaders bio
Add the country flag of the leadership team to the bio in the about page https://blackpythondevs.com/about.html
Do you mean those in the leadership section or those in the council?
Considering how this list is always growing and moving, and that people can move, have you considered the cost adding/updating this information?
I was thinking any leader willing to share their bio pictures with us would probably also be open to sharing their location. I’m just not sure if that should be their birthplace or current location. What do you think? so sharing bio pics acts like a filter to mitigate the cost, not sure if you feel me
In terms of our leads (akin to a board) it's reasonable but our council is made up of people that are primarily advisors and they're work with BPD is limited to their discression. I don't think it's reasonable to include the flags of the advisors.
My only concern regarding leaders sharing their location is that people move and there can be a lack of appreciation say for someone who is Brazilian but living in the United States but still very active in the Brazilian community.
I don’t think so too, again anyone without a bio pic automatically disqualifies from adding a flag although, both flags and bio pics are at discretion, not having a bio pics regardless of your hierarchy already disqualifies you from adding a flag, not sure if you’re feeling me.
Well, they can add a Brazilian and American flag 😁 more flags on your bio reflects diversity, which we very much adhere to. I can add both a Nigerian and Ghana flag cos, I’m Nigerian although most of my influence is in the Ghana tech space.
Say I relocate to Japan next year I’d update my bio w a Japanese flag having three flags in total, it really exposes how diverse the team is, which we truly are, not sure if you’re feeling me
That makes sense... My sense feels like there are more important issues that need to be addressed. I'd also like to see what this looks like before something like this were pushed (especially considering that new leaders will join soon and there will be a need to update this again around that time)
I agree, there are definitely more pressing issues. I just thought having a little emoji flag near the title would be a cool touch. Anyway, I just pulled the latest changes and noticed we don’t seem to spin the server with Jekyll anymore or am I missing something? Could you please point me to the maintainers’ guide? It’s been a while, and a few things have slipped my memory. Thanks!
