it would be great to be able to dim / turn off the LED light on the new consumer version.

Hi @neooriginal. I’m new to the omi repo and am looking into adding the ability to dim or turn off the LED light as requested. Currently, the firmware only supports turning the LEDs on or off using GPIO. To support dimming, I would need to implement PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control for the LEDs.

Could you clarify:

  • Should all LEDs (red, green, blue) support dimming, or just a specific one?
  • Is a simple on/off toggle sufficient, or do you want adjustable brightness levels (e.g., a slider or percentage)?
  • Should this be controllable from the user interface, or is a command/API sufficient?

Any additional requirements or preferences would be helpful. Thanks!

Hey @AshAnand34, welcome!

Id say all LEDs should support timming. While i would prefer dimming LEDs using a slider, on/off would be a start too. Controllable via the UI is a must as it has to be user-friendly.
