Environments failing to delete and then are stuck is failed state

I am seeing an issue were by I deploy an environment, which deploys but when it comes to deletion time the resources are deleted but the resource group remained and the environments show as 'failed'

This is the same trying to delete from devportal or from in azure portal - it tries to delete for a period of time but fails, first giving the error on the left saying deletion failed, but it will change to the failed state one

The error details for the deletion failed one say the subscription is not found "DeploymentError Operation failed with exit code DeploymentError ! Additional Error Details: WARNING: Subscription '' not recognized. ERROR: Subscription '' not found. Check the spelling and casing and try again. ERROR: Subscription '' not found. Check the spelling and casing and try again

The subscription displayed in the part is correct though and the subscription id I am using. The error in the failed state one is the same.

I have tried (and I only tried this after several attempts of deleting in devportal and azure portal) manually deleting the resource group that is left over and trying to delete again but that doesnt work either.

My next step is to delete the project from the dev center, as I have had to resort to that to fix other issues , but I wanted to report this as seems like a bug

Hi Phil, thanks for reporting this! We've seen this in a few customers and it's due to a change in the az login experience that we've had to adjust to. We have fixes rolling out that should remediate this shortly.
