Element assemblies get wrong z-coordinate in IFC

Open ragnhmyr opened this issue 3 years ago • 10 comments

Please see my forum post that i just posted: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-structure-forum/ifc-export-from-revit-element-assemblies-get-the-wrong-z/td-p/11732593 @AngelVelezSosa @o-babii according to the bug fixes for Release 23.2.3.0 for Revit 2023 it says 'Fixed exporting parts in assembly with the wrong elevation.' but according to our testing now it seems that there still is a problem unfortunately

This issue exists also for Release 24.2 for Revit 2024

Hello @mahshidmotie,

Can you please provide more details about your case? If it's possible for you, could you please provide the Revit file for which the issue is reproduced, it will really help in investigating the issue.

Regards

@o-babii please let me know how I can share the files with you.

@mahshidmotie, Often people use WeTransfer for such purposes, protected by a password. Also if you have a link for BIM360 that would work. If the file is not huge, or you can simplify it, you can just send me on email. You can contact me at [email protected]

@o-babii Hi again :) Any updates about this bug?

mahshidmotie avatar Mar 06 '24 13:03 mahshidmotie

@mahshidmotie , Hi, this bug has been reviewed and fixed, I think the fix will be available in the next update, but I can't guarantee it, nor can I talk about dates.

@o-babii Thank you very much. I would be happy to test. What I recently realized is: the same behavior appears even when there is no assembly. So rails appear in wrong coordinates even when they are not included in assemblies: Revit 24 --> ifc 4.3

@o-babii you can repeat it with the same test file I sent to you before.

@o-babii/ @AngelVelezSosa I've also made an issue post about this: https://github.com/Autodesk/revit-ifc/issues/806

So the issue is still there unfortunately, pleas update us about the status, because this issue causes a lot of frustration/ unnecesary discussions in project teams

Hello @WillemdBr , I managed to receive an incorrect result for the model in this case using the latest IFC exporter v24.2.2 But now the problem is different from the original one. I created an item to work on this problem on REVIT-226547.

Could you please verify that you are currently experiencing the same problem that I have been able to reproduce? image
